A month off the release date for Where Death Meets the Devil and another review has come in, this time from Publishers Weekly!! They said . . . "Hayward ratches up the suspense in this action-packed piece, with constant twists and betrayals on all sides to keep things unpredictable. . . . parallel narratives of past and present allow surprises to be revealed at opportune times. Fans of tense action and smoldering romance will appreciate the emotional connection between Jack and Ethan; there’s plenty of chemistry and a great setup for future books." ~ Publishers Weekly Whoo hoo!!
I have to say again, thank you to everyone who's read and reviewed my book already. I am totally grateful and gobsmacked at the response. Fingers crossed it continues in a month's time when the book is released!!

They said . . . "Where Death Meets the Devil is a stunning debut. It hits all the right marks as a well-plotted, well-paced and well-written romantic suspense novel." Yay!! The final new cover is here!! I have to admit, this is my personal favourite of the new covers. The colour scheme, the lightning and the bridge (important parts of the story) and a grimly determined Matt heading into a deadly confrontation. In other book news, found a package hidden away on my front patio today, containing these gorgeous goodies . . . Between this and the absolutely amazing reviews starting to come in, this whole thing is getting just a bit more real. And scary! The next big moment will be the actual release day. Eek!! I am absolutely blown away by the (so far) overwhelmingly positive reaction to my book from the early reviewers. Words cannot express how damn grateful I am that not only are people reading Where Death Meets the Devil, but enjoying it as well! Fingers crossed the good vibes keep happening when it hits the general public. Without further ado, the new Demon Dei cover . . . The new Blood Work cover felt like Matt was resigned to facing the dark. To me, this one feels like he's ready for anything. He knows a bit more than he did before and there's more than just his life on the line, as if the whole city is in danger . . .
New Rock Paper Sorcery cover (my favourite) is coming January 22nd! Watch this space!! Without further ado, the new look Blood Work . . . Okay, so I lied. It's not a dark alley, but I love the feel of the empty street and lone figure looking into the sunset, getting ready to face what will come crawling out of the darkness. The new look Blood Work is now available for download at Smashwords. Amazon may take a couple of days to update, but don't worry, it'll be there soon! I really hope you all like it as well and look forward to seeing the new Demon Dei cover in a week!! A new year is a good time to make some changes*, and with the upcoming release of my new book**, I decided it was a good idea to give the existing Night Call books a bit of a make-over. The saying is, "don't judge a book by its cover", but let's face it, we all do. ;) With the original covers for Night Call, I was going for simplistic symbolic style, something that stood out from the usual leather-clad figure holding a flaming sword or a dude in a trench coat lurking in a dark alley. I think I achieved that, but now, it's probably time to go lurk in a dark alley . . . Over the coming weeks, I'm going to release the new covers for the Night Call novels and fingers crossed you all love them as much as I do. Blood Work - Monday 8th January Demon Dei - Monday 15th January Rock Paper Sorcery - Monday 22nd January * I was going to do this on 1st January but technical difficulties happened, as they tend to do at the worst possible times. ** In case you missed it, Where Death Meets the Devil, available 26th February. ;) |
